Welcome to the Echo Flow Blog
This blog is where I share what I'm learning about private dictation, local AI writing, and the workflows that decide whether voice tools actually get used.
I'm not here to fill your inbox with SEO porridge. I'm here because I've spent the last year building Echo Flow, and I've learned a lot about what works, what doesn't, and what nobody talks about.
What you'll read here
- Private dictation , what "on-device" actually means, what it doesn't, and why the distinction matters
- The rewrite palette , why selected-text rewriting beats the chatbot loop for daily editing
- Context-aware dictation , why your Slack voice should not sound like your email voice
- Real workflows , meeting recaps, technical docs, confidential work, snippets, and the boring stuff that saves hours
- Honest comparisons , Echo Flow vs. macOS built-in, vs. Wispr, vs. cloud AI, with real trade-offs
Why I'm writing this
I built Echo Flow because I was tired of choosing between convenience and privacy. Tired of "accurate enough" transcription. Tired of editing my own thoughts by hand.
This blog is where I share what I've learned , the good, the bad, and the boring. If you dictate anything you wouldn't want read back to you by a stranger, you're in the right place.
