Echo Flow
timer Ready in 30 seconds

Start dictating
in three steps.

No accounts. One local Echo Flow AI setup. Two shortcuts: rewrite selected text anywhere, or dictate when typing slows you down.

Set up once, then write anywhere

Download the app, grant permissions, set up Echo Flow AI, and choose the shortcut workflow you need.

1

Grant Permissions

Echo Flow needs Microphone, Accessibility, and Speech Recognition access. The onboarding wizard guides you through each one with direct links to System Settings.

2

Set Up Echo Flow AI

Echo Flow AI downloads once during setup and then runs locally on your Mac for polish and rewrite. No model details to manage.

3

Rewrite or Dictate

Select text and press ⌥⇧Space to rewrite, or place your cursor and hold ⌥ + Space to dictate.

Two workflows. One app.

Dictate when you have something to say. Rewrite when you have something to refine.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and quick fixes.

"No speech detected" error

This usually means the on-device speech model is still downloading. Wait a few moments and try again. Echo Flow automatically retries after 3 seconds. Ensure your Mac's default input is set correctly in System Settings → Sound.

Text isn't pasting into the app

Echo Flow needs Accessibility permission to simulate keystrokes. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and ensure Echo Flow is enabled. Restart the app after granting permission.

Rewrite isn't working on selected text

Make sure text is actually selected before pressing ⌥⇧Space. Some apps (especially sandboxed ones) may restrict clipboard access. Echo Flow will fall back to copying the result to your clipboard with a toast notification.

Echo Flow AI setup is not complete

Open Echo Flow and complete the one-time Echo Flow AI setup. If the setup download is interrupted, the app will retry or fall back to local cleanup until Echo Flow AI is ready.
