Echo Flow

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Echo Flow is built to feel like an extension of your thoughts, not a leak of your data. This document explains what we do (and don’t do) with your information.

1. Core principle: 100% local

Echo Flow performs speech recognition, polish, and all processing locally on your device. Your audio never leaves your machine. We never send raw recordings to our servers or to third parties.

2. Polish (100% on-device)

Polish — including capitalization, punctuation, numbers, grammar, and tone refinement — runs 100% on your device. No text or audio is sent for this.

Echo Flow uses Apple Intelligence (on supported Macs) plus a rule-based polisher as a fallback. Both engines run entirely on-device:

  • Apple Intelligence runs locally on macOS 15+ with Apple Silicon. Your voice data never leaves your device.
  • The rule-based polisher handles capitalization, punctuation, filler removal, and formatting — all locally.
  • No prompts, transcriptions, or polished text are sent to any external server.

3. Data stored on your device

Echo Flow may store some information locally in order to function:

  • App settings and preferences (e.g. shortcuts, language).
  • Recent transcriptions and polished output, so you can revisit and reuse them.

You can clear history from within the app. We recommend doing this regularly if you work with highly sensitive information.

4. Telemetry & logs

To keep Echo Flow stable, we may collect limited diagnostic information, such as:

  • OS version, app version, and performance metrics.
  • Non‑content error messages (e.g. “network request failed”).

We do not intentionally log your actual dictated content. Where logs might accidentally include fragments of text (for example, provider error messages), we work to minimise and periodically delete this data.

5. Your choices and controls

  • You can turn polish on or off at any time. All polish runs on-device.
  • You can edit or clear your local history from the app.
  • You control whether polish tones and styles are applied to your transcriptions.

6. Contact for privacy questions
